Edutrust Academies Charitable Trust (E-ACT) is an education foundation and a registered charity (No: 1124189). It is a not-for-profit organisation established to promote excellence in education and learning.
E-ACT is opening new academies across England as part of a major programme of investment in educational centres of excellence.
E-ACT, under the direction of Director General Sir Bruce Liddington, works in partnership with individual schools, their local communities, local authorities and with all stakeholders who have an interest in education as part of the Government’s Academies programme.
The focus of E-ACT is supporting young people to achieve their true potential. The Trust is committed to significantly improving students’ ambitions, aspirations, learning, achievement and personal development, irrespective of their ability, gender, faith or race.
E-ACT is creating academies that are inclusive and provide for all students who will learn and develop together reflecting the multi-racial, multi-faith and multi-cultural nature of 21st Century Britain.
The ethos and values of E-ACT support and develop a culture where students’ individual faith and cultural requirements are recognised, respected and celebrated. E-ACT is committed to fostering the tolerance and respect for others which leads to greater community cohesion. The Trust’s academies are supported by its national partners. These include PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (financial and management) and Pinsent Masons (legal). In addition, each academy benefits from the support of local partners, including universities and other education providers from the maintained and independent sectors.
As the Academies’ Sponsor, E-ACT’s ethos is based on high aspirations, expectations and achievements. The Sponsor’s vision is to support The Crest Academies to become outstanding places of education within an inclusive ethos that promotes tolerance and respect for others. This will be characterised by diversity, equality and excellence. E-ACT’s expectations are that students will develop into citizens who actively contribute towards the building of cohesive and peaceful communities and are able to represent themselves confidently in all aspects of public life.
