Welcome from the Principal

commitIt gives me great pleasure to introduce you to The Crest Girls’ Academy.

It is a privilege to lead this vibrant, multicultural and happy girls’ school and to work in partnership with our enthusiastic students, dedicated staff and supportive parents and governors.

At The Crest Girls’ Academy, we have a clear vision for the future. We are determined that our girls succeed and leave us as confident, articulate and aspirational young women, fully prepared for life and work in the 21st century.

We have high expectations for our students and have created an environment in which each individual is supported and challenged to achieve their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom. Accordingly, we expect our students to be ready to learn, to work hard and to take pride in their own and their Academy’s achievements. Everyone’s successes are recognised and rewarded so that everyone feels valued.

Then and Now

Then and NowOriginally known as John Kelly Girls’ Technology College, we were founded alongside John Kelly Boys’ in 1958. Academies are a new form of inclusive secondary school designed to meet the needs of students in the 21st century. They are independent of their Local Authority, but publicly funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and monitored by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).
